HM001

Perhaps you sent a lovely card,
Or sat quietly in a chair.
Perhaps you sent a funeral spray,
If so we saw it there.
Perhaps you spoke the kindest words, As any friend could say,
Perhaps you were not there at all, Just thought of us that day. Whatever you did to console our hearts, We thank you, so very much Whatever the part.

HM002

I am at home in Heaven, dear ones, Oh, so happy and so bright,
There is perfect joy and beauty,
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless yearning passed,
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.

Did you wonder I so calmly, Trod the valley of the shade?Oh, but Jesus love illumined, Every dark and fearful glade.

And He himself came to meet me, In that way so hard to thread, And with Jesus’ arm to lean on, Could I have one doubt or dread.
Then you must grieve so sorely, For I love you dearly still,
Try to look beyond earth’s shadows, Pray to trust Our Father’s Will.
There is work still waiting for you, So you must not idly stand,
Do it now while life remaineth, You shall rest in Jesus’ Land.
When the work is all completed, He will gently call you Home, Oh, the rapture of that meeting, Oh, the joy to see you come.

HM003

We hold you close
within our hearts,
And there you shall remain,
To walk with us
throughout our lives,
Until we meet again.
So rest in peace dear __
And thanks for all you’ve done
We pray that God has given you
The crown you’ve truly won.

HM004

Don’t grieve for me now I’m free.
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call.
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found that peace at close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy,
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah, yes these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow,
My life’s been full, I’ve savoured so much, Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief,
Lift up you hearts and share with me
God wanted me now, He set me free.

HM005

Those who die in grace
go no further from us than God
and God is very near.

HM006

When I come to the end of the road, And the sun has set for me.
I want no rites in a gloom filled room Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little, but not too long, And not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared Miss me but let me go.

For this a journey we all must take And each must go alone,
It’s all a part of the Master’s plan A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart, Go to the friends we know,
And bury your sorrow
In doing good deeds,
Miss me but let me go.

HM007

Think
Of stepping on the shore
and finding it heaven;
Of taking hold of a hand
and finding it
God’s hand;
Of breathing a new air
and finding it
celestial air;
Of feeling invigorated
and finding it
immortality;
Of passing from storm
and tempest
to an unknown calm;
Of waking –
and finding you’re Home.

HM008

Lord
Make me an instrument
of Thy peace
Where there is hatred
let me sow love
Where there is injury
pardon
Where there is doubt
faith
Where there is despair
hope
Where there is darkness
light
And where there is sadness
Joy

HM009

To everything there is a season,
and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up
that which is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones,
and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace,
and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate;
A time of war, and a time of peace.

HM010

God saw the road was getting rough,
The hill was hard to climb.
He gently closed your loving eyes
and whispered “Peace be thine”.

HM011

I wander’d lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o‘er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. Continuous as the stars that shine And twinkle on the Milky Way, They stretch’d in never-ending line Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance, Tossing their heads in sprightly dance….

HM012

I’d like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an after glow
of smiles when life is done.

I’d like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.

I’d like the tears of those who grieve
to dry before the sun,
Of happy memories that I leave
when life is done.

HM013

We give our loved ones back to God,
and just as He first gave them to us
and did not lose them in the giving,
so we have not lost them in returning them to Him
for life is eternal, love is immortal
death is only a horizon… and a horizon is nothing
but the limit of our earthly sight.

HM014

Gone from us that smiling face,
The cheerful pleasant ways,
The heart that won so many friends,
In bygone, happy days.

A life made beautiful by kindly deeds,
A helping hand for others needs,
To a beautiful life, comes a happy end,
He/She died as he/she lived, everyone’s friend.

HM015

Pray for us O dearest father,
To Jesus Christ our King
That he may bless our lonely home
Where thou once dwelt therein
And pray that God may give us strength To bear our heavy cross;
For no one knows but only He
The treasure we have lost.

HM016

There comes a time for all of us
When we must say goodbye,
But memories of those we love
Live on and never die.

Although the curtain falls at last,
Is that a cause to grieve?
The future life is brighter still
If only we believe.

So trust in God’s eternal care,
And when the Master calls,
We’ll know a fairer world’s beyond, Although the curtain falls.

HM017

Along the road to yesterday
That leads me straight to you;
Are memories of happy days,
Together we once knew.

HM018

O Lord support us all the day long of this troublous life
‘till the shades lengthen
and the evening comes.
The busy world is hushed,
the fever of life is over
and our work is done.
Then, Lord in Thy great mercy, grant us a safe lodging,
a holy rest and peace at last. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

HM019

There is a home that lies beyond
And past its golden door
Awaits the one who’s now away,
Not lost -just gone before.
And in that home that lies beyond
The Master will prepare
A place for you,
And when He calls
You’ll meet your loved ones there.

HM020

There is no night without a dawning No winter without a spring
And beyond death’s dark horizon Our hearts once more will sing. For those who leave us for a while have only gone away
Out of a restless, careworn world Into a brighter day.

HM021

God called your name so softly, That only you could hear,
And no one heard the footsteps,
Of angels drawing near.
The golden gates stood open,
God saw you needed rest,
His garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best.

HM022

The blow was hard, the shock severe, To part with one we loved so dear, Our loss is great, we’ll not complain, But trust in God, to meet again.

Though tired eyes are sleeping, Though willing hands are still,
The one who worked so hard for us, Is resting at God’s will.

Our family chain is broken,
Nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us, one by one,
The links shall join again.

HM023

She always learned to watch for us Anxious if we were late
In winter by the window
In summer by the gate

And though we mocked her tenderly Who had such foolish care
The long way home would seem more safe Because she waited there

Her thoughts were all so full of us
She never would forget
And so I think that where she is
She must be watching yet

Waiting till we come home to her Anxious if we were late
Watching from Heaven’s window Leaning from Heaven’s gate

HM024

Many the thoughts I give to you
As the long hours go by.
Thinking of the things we used to
Do and say, just you and I. Sometimes they make me smile, Sometimes they make me cry.
But are precious to me alone, Memories of you and I.

HM025

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence I fly unto thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother, to thee I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy clemency hear and answer me. Amen.

HM026

How we miss the welcome footsteps
Of the one we loved so dear.
Oft we listen for his/her coming
Fully sure that he/she is near.
Thou are gone but not forgotten
Fresh our love will ever be
For as long as there is memory
We will always think of thee.

HM027

He/She has gone across the river,
To the shore of evergreen,
And we long to see his/her dear face, But the river flows between;
Someday, sometime we shall see
The face we loved so well,
Someday we’ll clasp his/her hand,
And never say farewell.

HM028

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can
and wisdom to know the difference

HM029

We are sad within our memory,
Lonely are our hearts today;
For the one we loved so dearly
Has forever been called away;
We think of him/her in silence,
No eye can see us weep,
But many silent tears are shed,
When others are asleep.

HM030

I remember the day I met you,
And the day God made you mine,
I remember the day God took you,
And will till the end of time.
We made our vows together,
Until death do we part,
But the day God took you from me,
My whole world fell apart.
Sometimes I think I’m dreaming,
I can’t believe it’s true,
That I can go on living when I no longer have you, And the memories of the happy years,
When we were together;
The joys, the tears, the love, the fears,
Will stay with me forever,
And when I’m sad and lonely,
And everything goes wrong,
I seem to hear you whisper,
“Cheer up and carry on.”

HM031

After the clouds, the sunshine,
after the winter, the spring,
after the shower, the rainbow,
for life is a changeable thing.
After the night, the morning,
bidding all darkness cease,
after life’s cares and sorrows,
the comfort and sweetness of peace.

HM032

You said I’d cry for just a while, And then you’d be forgotten,
I vowed that day to prove you wrong, I hope that you’ve been watching. Your memories are alive and well, Your name used oh so often,
I know you’d be real proud of me,
I pray that you’ve been watching. Your resting place is as you wished, A heaven all its own,
It’s there I go to visit you,
You’ll never be alone.

HM033

A million times I’ve needed you,
A million times I’ve cried,
If love could have saved you dear,
You never would have died.
Things we feel most deeply,
Are the hardest things to say,
My dearest __ I loved you,
In a very special way.
If I could have one lifetime wish,
One dream that could come true,
I’d pray to God with all my heart,
For yesterday and you.

HM034

Just a thought of sweet remembrance, Just a memory fond and true,
Just a token of affection
And a heartache still for you.
More each day we miss you, Though our thoughts are not revealed, Little do they know the sorrow That is within our hearts concealed.

HM035

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what’s to be,
A resting place along the road,
To sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
But never meant to stay…
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey’s quicker,
For some the journey’s slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We’ll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord.

HM036

When I am gone, release me, let me go
I have so many things to see and do
You must not tie yourself to me with tears Be happy that I have had so many years
I gave you my love, you can only guess How much you gave me in happiness
I thank you for the love each have shown But now it is time I travelled on alone
So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must Then let your grief be comforted by trust
It is only for a while that we must part
So bless the memories in your heart
I will not be far away, for life goes on
So if you need me, call and I will come Though you cannot see or touch me, I will be near
And if you listen with your heart, you will hear
All of my love around you soft and clear Then, when you must come this way alone
I will greet you with a smile and welcome you
home.

HM037

Look at life
With eyes that see,
the good and not
the bad.
Cherish in your memory
the glad times
not the sad.

HM038

May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face And rains fall softly upon your fields
And until we meet again
May the Good Lord hold you
In the palm of His hand

Memory is life’s sweetest gift, Please, God, forgive a silent tear, A fervent wish my Mom was here. There are others, yes I know,
But she was mine, I loved her so, Dear God, take a message,
To my Mother in Heaven above, Tell her how much I miss her,
And give her all my love.

HM044

God gave us our mother,
And He tried to be fair,
And when He gave us ours,
We got more than our share. Although He took her back
One year ago today,
We are so grateful for,
The years He let her stay.

HM045

Things I feel most deeply
Are the hardest things to say,

For yesterday, and you.

Our hearts are like a memory book Its pages Mother dear
Hold all the loving thoughts of you Recorded year by year.

A rare edition Mother dear Because you’re treasured there.

HM047

If I had all the world to give,
I’d give it, yes, and more,
To hear her voice, see her smile,
And greet her at the door.
But all I can do, dear Mother
Is go and tend your grave,
And leave behind tokens of love
To the best mother God made.
I like to think when life is done,
Wherever heaven may be,
She’ll be standing at the door
Up there to welcome me.

We lost a father with a heart of gold,
How much we miss him can never be told,
He shared our troubles and helped us along,
If we follow his footsteps we will never go wrong.
We miss you from your fireside chair,
Your loving smile and gentle air,
Your vacant place no one can fill,
We miss you father and always will.
He was a father so very rare,
Content in his home and always there,

God bless you father you were one of the best.

HM051

You can only have one father, Patient, kind and true;
No other friend in all the world, Will be the same as you.
When other friends forsake you, To father you will turn,
For all his loving kindness,
He asks nothing in return.
As we look upon his picture, Sweet memories we recall,
Of a face so full of sunshine, And a smile for one and all. Sweet Jesus, take this message, To our dear father up above;
Tell how we miss him,
And give him all our love.

HM052

It’s so strange that those we need And those we love the best,
Are just the ones God called away And took them home to rest, But every time I think of Dad,

Have faith and trust my promise You’ll meet again some day.

Thousands of children stand,
Children whose sins are all forgiven,
A holy, happy band.
Up there among the throng,
Our little __ stands,
Waiting for us to join him/her,
In that holy, happy land.

HM055

Fondly loved and deeply mourned Heart of my heart, I miss you so; Often, my darling, my tears flow, Dimming your picture before my eyes, But never the one in my heart that lies. The stars seem dim as I whisper low, My darling boy/girl, I miss you so.

HM056

Our Lady wished a pretty flower, To lay at Jesus feet,
Her choice was of the fairest,
A lily pure and sweet.
She gazed amid the little ones,
And stooped to pick the best,
Dear __ was the chosen one, With Jesus now she rests.
Fold her, O Jesus, in Thy arms,
And let her henceforth be,
A messenger of love between
Our human hearts and Thee.
